Fake smiles plastered on faces,
Like the old Tower of Babel,
We each cover our bases.
“There really can be no way”
“Well of course I agree,
But there is nothing to say,
Nothing there for us to agree”
“Of course we are all fine
No reason why not”
By and by the line
Recedes into a dot.
So enough of this chatter,
Let’s get to brass tacks,
What really really matters,
Is what we’ll have for a snack!
